It is truly amazing how exciting your wedding day can be. It is the day where months of planning come together with your love at forefront. Angela and Mike Boyle were married on September 23rd, 2016 at the historic Sterling Mansion in Reading, Pennsylvania. It was an absolute beautiful day with the weather being a catalyst for some of the best outdoor photographs of our wedding season. We sat down with the happy couple and asked them a few questions about their special day…
What is the best advice you can give a bride?
“Hate to be cliché, but when it comes to your wedding: color choices, cake selection, whether you’ll be inviting kids or not. . . You and your future hubby can make those decisions. Don’t get caught up in not being a bridezilla and pleasing everyone else. This is your day and you only get to do it once. So say yes to what you want, your friends and family will respect your choices, just like you’ll respect theirs on their day.”
Was there a big surprise on your wedding day that may have caught you off guard?
“Biggest surprise. . . Really almost everything was and went perfectly. The only hiccup, which was resolved, was that my makeup artist had me down for the wrong day in her calendar. She ended up arriving just a little behind schedule. Oh and we forgot, someone accidently pulled the fire alarm attempting to turn off a light switch. The fire department showed up, the DJ went along with the alarms playing, “the roof, the roof, the roof is on fire”. All in all, it led to a funny story.”
What was your favorite photo moment?
“This question can go two ways. First, our favorite photo or shot was me, the bride, shot from behind walking with my dad down the aisle. As far as the most fun photo shoot, we agreed our “Brady Bunch” collage was a fun addition. Also, I decided to pull a “Bridesmaid” movie moment and crouch in the street for a silly shot.”
How did you like working with Dave Zerbe Photo Studio?
“We originally chose Dave Zerbe Photography because we felt they had a real passion for photography and we could tell they truly put their heart into their work. Our wedding day and the encounters leading up to it were no exception. Our GTKY session was so much fun and really made us comfortable. They made our wedding day exceptional with their attention to detail, caring demeanor, and overall love for photography. After the wedding, they continued to work closely with us to ensure our wedding photos were exactly what we had hoped for.”
How did you tame those wedding day nerves?
“Glass of champagne. . . mostly kidding. Honestly, just remember what the day is about and why you are both there. It’s a day you get to proclaim to the world you are so in love with this person you’re choosing to give them every part of you for as long as you live. Everyone is so happy for you they are just excited to live in your moment.”
Which moment from your wedding will last forever?
“That is a difficult question to answer because many moments float through my mind like a string of notes playing the song of our wedding. We decided to do a first look. That moment combined with walking down the aisle and having been overwhelmed with pure excitement and assurance were really my two major moments as the bride. Hearing the song we chose for my aisle march and standing waiting to see me come around the corner was my husband’s more memorable moment.”
A huge thanks to Angela and Mike Boyle for taking time out of their busy schedules to sit down with us and answer these post wedding day questions. It was a true honor to photograph their wedding.
Best Regards,
